This year I have the privilege of speaking at the Seattle Festival of Trees Gala on Saturday, November 19th. I will be sharing the story of my autistic son’s journey through an experimental bone marrow transplant, and the remarkable strength and resilience he gained from his best friend, a chicken named Frightful. (Yes, a backyard chicken!)

This incredible evening is a fundraising event for Seattle Children’s Hospital and is put on by the remarkable ladies of the Dr. Forrest L. Flashman Guild and the Autism Center Guild.

If you live in the Puget Sound area, check out the stunning display of trees in the lobby and grand motor entrance of the Fairmont Olympic Hotel, between November 19th and 30th, 2016. All sales from the trees go to Seattle Children’s Hospital in support of the Autism Center and uncompensated care.

For a holiday outing with the family, come to the Festival of Trees Celebration on Sunday, November 20th from 1:00 – 4:00pm. Celebrate the lighting of the Fairmont Olympic’s grand lobby tree, and the opening of the Teddy Bear Suite. Listen to Christmas stories and sample homemade cookies, meet Santa, shop for holiday gifts, and enjoy entertainment provided by the St. Jude Parish Sanctuary Choir and the Seattle Girls’ Choir. I hope to see you there!

Kristin Jarvis Adams' story of Andrew and Frightful is a beautiful and remarkable journey through medical mysteries, a reliance on a superhero chicken, and ultimately, a transcendent faith that ushers in hope when all else seems lost.
